After meeting on match.com, Jackie. 38, and Neil, 34, only had eyes for each other on their first date: they talked and laughed until they were the only diners left in Marco Pierre Whites West Tower restaurant "The first thing that struck me about Neil was his beaming smile and kind face," says Jaloe. "Next was his height I'm fire foot two in heels and he's six foot one! Luckily we overcame that problem at the end of the evening - by kissing on the steps."
A couple of years on, as they settled in for coffee after lunch at country house Northcote, Blackburn Neil sneaked a surprise in with the final course. "He passed me the petits fowl, and there was a ring-box nestled among them," Jackie says. “I immediately said yes!". Minutes later they'd decided to hold their wedding at Northcote. "We chose it for its Michelin-starred food. The head chef is Lisa Allen, a winner of The Great British Menu, and we’d also stayed there on gourmet breaks, so it was a special place for us."
The grandeur of the venue inspired the theme: bygone days of love and laughter, tinged with Hollywood elegance in shades of muted pink mink and ivory. "We wanted the day to reflect our love of all things traditional. There's a certain romance that comes from years gone by."
Nothing channelled that feeling better than Jackie's Fifties-style wedding dress. made to measure by Candy Anthony. " It was actually two bridal dresses - a satin, strapless under-dress with a full skirt< http://www.boutiquedress.co.uk/strapless-prom-dresses >, and a separate lace and tulle over-dress with a high boat-neck and capped sleeves.
