Welcome to Chienowa Chun-Chun Café, a small community space operated by the non-profit organization Group Chie-no-wa (NPO).
Our café aims to create a friendly place where neighbors can relax, connect, and share cultures.

Our staff usually cannot speak English, but the ORIGAMI instructor (that's me) can communicate in simple English.

When Ms. Masako Okuyama, the representative of this NPO, was working as an elementary school teacher, I was one of her students.
Thanks to this connection, I now volunteer to support the organization by helping with the website and social media communication.
I also plan and teach several workshops for “Otona-no Terakoya (Adult Terakoya),” including origami, smartphone basics, and AI sessions.

🌸 About Group Chie-no-wa (NPO)

Group Chie-no-wa began in 1987 through connections among children in the special support class at Kosuzume (small sparrow) Elementary School, their families, and local community members.
The name “Chienowa” comes from the warm circle of bonds created around Chie-chan (Chie Yamamura), a student who sadly passed away due to illness in the third grade.

In December 2021, our organization opened its fifth multipurpose community space, equipped with an accessible restroom.
It serves as a inclusive gathering place where people of all ages— from infants to seniors — can relax, meet, and participate in cultural activities.

On weekdays, Saturdays, and the first Sunday of each month, the space operates as Chienowa Chun-Chun Café, and outside café hours it is available for rental.
On the third and fourth Tuesdays, the café hosts “Otona-no Terakoya (Adult Terakoya),” a learning program featuring workshops taught by local residents on a variety of engaging topics.

To ensure that Chienowa’s activities can continue for many years to come, we became a certified Nonprofit Organization (NPO) in April 2022.

Features of my origami workshop:

You can choose any model you like from many origami books
The instructor will help when needed in simple English
A relaxed, friendly atmosphere

I regularly hold two types of origami gatherings:

1. “Otona-no Terakoya (Adult Terakoya)” Origami Workshop (official program)

Time: Several times a year, usually 4th Tuesday, 10:00–12:00
Fee: 800 yen (includes a drink)
Reservation: You can reach me through My social media acounts.
(Café staff usually cannot speak English.)
Information about this workshop will be posted on the café’s calendar and event announcements in Japanese.

2. Monthly Origami Workshop (informal)

I also host a small private Origami Gathering about once a month, usually on the first or second Tuesday mornings (10:00–12:00). The schedule may change, so please contact me first if you would like to join.

Fee: 500 yen + one café order
Reservation: You can reach me through My social media acounts.

Origami workshops can also be offered at locations outside the café.
I can travel to Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba. Travel expenses and instructor fees can be discussed based on the details of the request.

I live in Tokyo (near Ikebukuro).

🌏 For Foreign Residents & Students

I welcome neighbors from abroad who want to experience Japanese culture, make friends, or simply enjoy a quiet craft activity.
You don’t need perfect Japanese — origami is hands-on, and we can communicate slowly in English too.

Some local students have even shared Japanese culture abroad—such as performing Bon Odori they learned at our café. I hope more cross-cultural exchange will grow here.

ようこそ「ちえのわチュンチュンカフェ」へ。
このカフェは、特定非営利活動法人ぐるーぷ・ちえのわが運営する、小さな地域コミュニティスペースです。地域の人が気軽に立ち寄り、つながり、文化を分かち合える場をつくることを目指しています。

スタッフは英語が話せませんが、講師（私）は少し英語でのコミュニケーションが可能です。

このNPO法人「ぐるーぷ・ちえのわ」の代表である奥山雅子が小学校の教員をしていた頃、私はその小学校に通う児童でした。そのご縁で、現在はWebサイト管理やSNS発信などのサポートをするボランティアとして関わっています。また、「大人の寺子屋」では、おりがみ講座、スマホ講座、AI講座などの企画や講師も担当しています。

🌸 ぐるーぷ・ちえのわ（NPO）について

「ぐるーぷ・ちえのわ」は、1987年、小雀小学校の個別支援級の子どもたち・保護者・地域の方々とのつながりの中から生まれました。
三年生のときに重い病で天国に旅立った「ちえちゃん」こと山村千絵さんとの、温かいつながりの輪にちなんで「ちえのわ」と名付けられました。

2021年12月には、車いすトイレを備えた5つ目の多目的交流スペースが誕生しました。乳児から高齢者まで、誰もが集い、憩い、活動できる「バリアフリーな地域の居場所」として、さまざまな文化的活動を行っています。

平日・土曜日・第1日曜日は「ちえのわチュンチュンカフェ」として営業し、時間外は貸室としても利用できます。
毎月第3・4火曜日には「大人の寺子屋」として、地域の方を講師に迎え、魅力あるテーマで学ぶ会を開催しています。

これからも末永く、ちえのわの活動が続くために、2022年4月より、特定非営利活動法人（NPO法人）として歩んでいくことにいたしました。

🎐 ちえのわチュンチュカフェのおりがみ会

私のおりがみワークショップの特徴は以下の通りです。

たくさんの本から好きな作品を自由に選べる
必要に応じて講師がお手伝い（講師は簡単な英語なら話せます）
ゆったりした雰囲気で楽しめる

カフェでは、次の2種類のおりがみ会を開催しています。

1．「大人の寺子屋」おりがみ講座（地域のひろば事業）

日時： 年に数回、第4火曜 10〜12時
参加費： 800円（ドリンク付き）
お申込み： 日本語がおわかりになる方はお電話またはカフェにてお申込み
お知らせ： カフェのカレンダーやイベント案内に掲載されます

2．私設おりがみ会（おおむね月1回）

概ね月に1回、第1か第2火曜日（10–12時）に、カフェにて個人的に「おりがみ会」を開催しています。開催日は変わることがありますので、まずは私にご連絡ください。

参加費： 500円＋カフェご注文
お申込み・お知らせ方法： SNSのDMでご連絡ください。大人の寺子屋、ちえのわまつり、などでお会いした方とはLINE交換をすることもあります。

カフェ以外の場所でも、おりがみレクチャーをご依頼いただけます。
東京・神奈川・埼玉・千葉であれば伺うことができます。（東京在住）
交通費と講師料は内容に応じてご相談させてください。
