“If you could give children who live in one of the poorest countries in the world one thing, what would it be?”
I would say “EDUCATION”.
I’ve believed that education gives children chances and let them accelerate moving in the direction of their dreams. There might be someone who say it would be food, clothes, water something like that. However, it’s just a workaround because poverty and lack of education cause a negative chain reaction. Education can let your life richer no matter what ages, backgrounds and life goals. It also means your life rich spread to others through your children and people around you, I hope. Perhaps children in developing countries are already happy with the present situation, actually I’ve heard of such a opinion. They also say there’s nothing more we can do. Still, I want children to see a world that they’ve never seen. Learning can open your world to new possibilities. Removing the barriers to learning and building an educational system is more important than anything else in the world.

『もし貧しい国のこどもに何か一つだけ与えることができるとしたら、それは何ですか？』
私は『教育』と答えます。教育はこどもたちにチャンスを与え、夢に向かう原動力になると信じています。おそらく、食べ物、服、水とかそのような答えを持っている人もいると思いますが、それは一時的な解決策であり、貧困と教育の機会の不足は密接で、負のスパイラルに繋がっています。教育は年、バックグラウンド、目的に関わらず人生を豊かにしてくれます。その豊かさはそのこどもたちだけでなく、その人の周りにも広がっていくと信じています。ひょっとしたら発展途上国のこどもたちの中には現状で幸せの子たちもいるかもしれないし、実際そういう意見を聞いたことあります。しかも何もできることはないとも聞きました。それでもやっぱり、私はこどもたちに今まで見たことがない違う世界も見せてあげたいと思うし、学ぶということは、新しい世界を開くことになると思います。教育の障害を取り除き、システムを確立させることは何よりも大事だと考えます。
