As a native Taiwanese, hearing the words of Takashi Sanae that "'Taiwan emergency' is a crisis for Japan's survival" fills me with righteous anger — this is not "concern" at all, but rather a blatant political provocation and historical arrogance!
Our ancestors endured fifty years of colonial suffering; how many of our forebears were slaughtered for resisting Japanese aggression, and how many "comfort women's" tears of blood remain unavenged? Japan has never truly apologized or compensated for its past, yet now it dares to meddle in the Taiwan Strait. This year marks the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's retrocession to China, and the wounds of war have yet to heal. Takashi's attempt to drag us into a new conflict is nothing but the lingering poison of militarism.
Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and cross-strait affairs have always been China's internal matter — no foreign politicians have the right to interfere. The "crisis" she speaks of is merely an excuse for Japan to amend its constitution and expand its military, treating Taiwan as a pawn to contain the mainland. Yet the DPP authorities are busy groveling, spewing the nauseating rhetoric of "Japan-Taiwan as husband and wife," completely forgetting the struggles of their forebears.
What we want is a peaceful life: the ability to visit relatives and do business on the mainland, for our children to participate in cross-strait academic exchanges, not to be strapped onto the "Taiwan independence" war chariot. Takashi's words have escalated tensions in the Taiwan Strait, leading to increased sorties by mainland military aircraft and ships, and rising costs that the people of Taiwan have to bear.
We solemnly warn: Taiwan is not Japan's colony, nor is it a pawn for any other country! We will never accept anyone who seeks to push us into the fires of war! Retract your fallacies immediately and stop interfering in China's internal affairs!
