More tips to study English

Just this week a student reminded me of a very useful strategy to study a foreign language.
今週、生徒さんにいい習う方法を思い出されました。

PODCASTS!

When I was studying Japanese, listening to podcasts helped me a lot to get used to the pronunciation and sounds! I am sure it can help you too! I used to listen to one almost everyday. It doesn't take much time, and they are interesting so they are fun to listen to.
私は日本語を勉強していた時に、ポッドキャストを聞くのはとても役立ったので、きっと皆さんにも！

It is specially designed for Japanese learners and you can even register for a free full access trial period.
The lessons are divided by levels so please, go ahead and try a level that suits you.
You will see some improvement in no time!

Summer Schoolのお知らせ♪

今日は、夏休みのSummer Schoolのお知らせです♪
今年度より、毎年夏に行われていた夏期補習をグレードアップして、Summer Schoolを開校することになりました

クリスマスやハロウィーンのパーティーは全てキッズ向けなので、
あまり英語のアクティビティに参加する機会の少ない中・高生ですが、
今年はOlga先生をはじめ、色々な国の講師とともに一日英語漬け生活をすごす予定です

2年生のレッスン

Hello! This is Olga

今週は大分と別府の2年生が自分が欲しいペットを英語で発表しました☆

みんながちょっと緊張していたけど、とても上手にできました！私はとてもびっくりしました！
発表のときに子どもがそれぞれ前に来て、自分が欲しいペットを飼っているふりをして、自分が描いたそのペットの絵を見せながら、みんなに紹介しました



犬だったり、蛇だったり、好きな動物をペットにして、名前もつけてあげました

そしたら、私が"Do you have a pet?"と訊いたら、子どもが"Yes, I have a ______. His/her name is _______"というふうに答えました

勉強しながら、楽しい時間を過ごしました。次の勉強も頑張りましょう

Easter Party

Hello!
This is Olga.


This week we had an Easter party for our students under 6th grade of elementary school!
They learned about Easter and how it is celebrated in other countries.
今週イースターパーティーをしました！みんなはイースターについていろいろ習いました！

For the fun part, we made them decorate their own Easter eggs. They got some colored boiled eggs and then they started pasting stickers and wiggly eye stickers on their eggs.
みんながイースター卵を可愛くして楽しめました。色のついたゆで卵に目玉や可愛くてカラフルなシールをはりました！



They also enjoyed listening to two very traditional Easter songs: "Hot cross buns" and "Here comes Peter Cottontail". They were humming the songs while decorating their eggs.
卵のデコレーションしながら、"Hot cross buns" や "Here comes Peter Cottontail"というイースターソングを聞きました!子どもが楽しくその歌を鼻歌で歌ていました！

After decorating the Easter eggs, the children had a tournament to see which egg was the strongest!!! It was really fun!
終わったらみんなで最強卵大会をして、卵をぶつけ合いました！とても楽しかった！

TIps for TOEIC（tillとby)

こんにちは、TOEIC担当Ayakoです

今日は、TOEICでも大学受験でも役立つTipsを紹介します。

Please come here till five.

この文を見て、あれっ？？と思ったあなた、正解です

till（untilも使います）は、"～まで"と期間が継続することを示します。
"5時までここに来てください"
だと、5時までず～っとここに来て帰って、来て帰ってを繰り返すイメージですね。

"5時までにはここに来てください"といいたいときには、
Please come here by five.
と、byを使います。
byは"～までには"という意味なので、今度はおかしくないですね
このbyは、
"I will have finished this work by the time you come here."
（あなたがここに来るまでには、この仕事を終わらせとくよ）
by the timeという接続詞になっていたりしますね。


では問題です。

　I'll be here till three o'clock.

　I'll be here by three o'clock.

どんな違いがあるでしょう？？










上の文は、"3時までず～っと、ここにいるよ"

下の文は、"3時までには、ここにいる状態になるよ＝ここに来るよ"

と違いがでるんですね。
