📍Merinid Tombs📍 The tombs that loom above the city of Fez are one of the many structures built by the Merenids during their rule. Although little remains of their original decorations and not a lot is known about who exactly is buried there, this mystery only serves to entice more and more visitors each year. Time and the weather have taken their toll on these once sumptuous tombs, but today you can see some of the walls still standing with beautifully detailed carvings. What the tombs lack in aesthetic beauty, however, they make up for with spectacular views. From the top of the hill, you can view most of the landmark historical and religious buildings of Fez. The rolling hills that surround the Merenid Tombs also provide a wonderful view for travelers looking to explore some of the region’s natural landscapes. These 14th-century tombs are in a dramatic, advanced state of ruin. The real draw is the spectacular views over Fez and the mountains to the north. At dusk, locals gather to watch the lights come on and hear the muezzin's prayer calls echo around the valley. A paved path leads up from the main road west of the hill, or a taxi from Bab Bou Jeloud. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 👉Follow us and tag yourself if you are interested in sharing your most perfect pictures of our beautiful country @moroccofriendlytravel Credit:® @hafiidii.omaar @walidtighazoui . . . #postcardsfromtheworld #optoutside #solotravel #goexplore #wonderfulplaces #travelbug #wanderlust #momentsofmine #travelstories #roamtheplanet #traveltheworld #instatravelling #mytravelgram #traveladdict #globetrotter #travelphotography #lovetravel #travelpics #travelwithfriends #travelinspiration #travelblogger #travel #traveltheworld #instatravel #traveladdict #travelgram #travelholic #travelphotographer #travelling #travelpic
