カレン族の村でのボランティア活動は、村人のお家でのホームステイから始まりました。村人は私たちのために、貴重な食材を振舞って下さいました。ここには忘れられない思い出がたくさん詰まっています。
Volunteer activities in the Karen village started with a homestay at a villager's house. The villagers treated us with precious ingredients. There are many unforgettable memories here.
私たちがホームステイしたお家です。家族みんなで迎えて下さいました。

毎日山から薪をとってくる親子。恥ずかしそうな素振りで、通って行きました。

家族の衣装になる布を織る親子。村には小さな子供が沢山いました。

大切な食料を持ち寄って、私たちのために、おいしい食事を毎回作ってくれたお母さん。優しい人々。山の村でのお米は、ビックリ、タイ米でなく、日本のお米のようでした。もち米かな？
Mother who brought precious food and made delicious meals for us every time. kind people. Surprisingly, the rice in the mountain village looked like Japanese rice, not Thai rice. Is it sticky rice?
私たちも少しは働きましたよ。お米をこねて、臼でお餅を作りました。
We worked a little too. I kneaded rice and made mochi with a mortar.
私たちのために蛇を焼い下さいましたが…。 鳥の料理も、すごかった！
You roasted snakes for us... "The chicken dish was also amazing!"
でも、この様に、きれいに出来上がりました。
But, like this, it turned out beautifully.
そう、私たちにとっては、すべてが、初めての体験でした。
For us, it was all a first-time experience.
