The new device from the Japanese tech major is rich with various exciting features and is likely to cater to the demand of people who need machines with higher capabilities.
“Over the past few years, Fujitsu has turned into a well known brand in the domestic market. People are aware of the fact that Fujitsu products are of superior quality,” said DB Shrestha, manager at SHTCH International. The company is confident with this new offering. It has carved a niche among people for whom quality counts much more than price, he added.
Demand for laptop computers has been increasing in the domestic market by 15-20 percent annually since the past few years. Traders said that the main reason behind the increase in the popularity of laptops in recent days is the growing attraction among the Nepali people for the latest technology. Likewise, a narrowing price difference between desktop computers and laptops and increased load-shedding hours has encouraged people to go for the portable devices.
The stylish and ultra-slim Fujitsu is the perfect choice for everyday requirements. The device features a 13.3 inch LED backlight HD (high definition) display along with anti-glare display facility. The device weighs just 1.6 kg. The combination of thin design, sleek look with two colour options makes the newly unveiled device a head turner.
Users will have four options in the device’s operating system (OS). They can choose from Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. To make the machine more efficient, this OS has been mated with Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge generation Core i5-3317 U processor. Intel’s CPU also supports hyperthreading, which enables processing two threads on one processor core per clock simultaneously. The device is also available with Core i7-3517 U processor. As for memory, the device has a 500 GB of hard disk and 4 GB RAM. It also features a built-in HD web camera.
Fujitsu’s latest offering also has enhanced audio features for better sound. Along with Realtek HD audio system, the device has two built-in stereo speakers which supports high-definition audio. Likewise, the DTS boost system maximizes the acoustic power of the laptop. The other interesting feature of this new laptop is its battery backup. It is equipped with a four-cell 2840 mAh battery which provides power for up to five hours.
SHTCH International stated that the new offering has been available in the domestic market for the past one month, and that sales have remained quite satisfactory. “It is moving well among our targeted customers,” Shrestha said. The potential customers of the device are professionals, high-end gadget seekers and those who need a lightweight device along with long battery backup, he added.
SHTC International has priced the Fujitsu UH572 Ultrabook with Core i5-3317 U processor at Rs 112,000.
