Today I had one of those moments that was strangely awkward
and entertaining at the same time... I was walking through the train station in
Shinjuku I could see the exit stairs, they were right there in front of me…
just about to head up the stairs I felt a tug on my purse. I quickly turned
around and grabbed the ear in question. The chain that dangles from it had tangled
around a lock on a young man’s bag… I apologized and quickly and started to
untangle it. This is where his friend stepped into view and spoke something about
a dream…. Me being the shy creature that I am just blushed more finished untangling
the chain and escaped as soon as possible…
I guess it’s in these situations that I need to figure out how to talk to
people… It would have been fun to crack a silly joke, but then again most
people don’t understand my jokes who speak English let’s not even consider how
my sad attempt at jokes would be taken in Japanese. But you never know those
two silly guys that my purse seemed to like could have been potential friends…
Granted at this stage in my life I could really use more female friends and not
really more male friends, but you have to start somewhere right. :-p
The ear in question......
And all things considered this situation wasn’t as awkward as the one last weekend
where the guy in Shinagawa station asked to take pictures of my shoes……….. and
my feet…… um… awkward… I was informed that this was not a normal situation….
Lucky me shyness kicked in here too and I was off as soon as I apologized for
not being able to help him. ^^
