Is information technology changing news media for the better?
The field of information technology has developed dramatically in a few decades. We are now highly dependent on the new technology, smart phones, personal computer and so on. I argue the information technology is changing news media for the better by the following reasons.
Firstly, we can access the latest news on internet anytime and anywhere. Although we need to watch TV or listen to the radio to know current news in the past, we can have now many options to access the news media, internet through smart phone, ipad or personal computer. We can now make much use of these convenience tools for quick information.
Secondly, we can gain wide perspectives to read many opinions from many people on internet. For example, the TV news programs are broadcasted after inspection by authority in that institution. This could intervene transmitting truth of the events occasionally.
Finally, the development of information technology can promote globalization in the overseas through internet technology. It would greatly contribute to our further understanding of foreign cultures or traditions.
As above mentioned reasons, easy access to current news, gaining various views from many people and promoting globalization, I agree that information technology is changing the media in good ways.
