☆マオのちょっと悲しい瞬間～笑い編～☆
今の気分はこんなかんじ
今日、知らない日本人に超日本語なまりの英語で道を聞かれました
すぐ日本人かな？って思って、カレシにも”I think they are Japanese."
っといわれたので、日本語で答えました
そしたら
ありがとうも言われず、”やべぇ、日本人だった～！”って爆笑しながらさっていきました
なに、マオって何人に見えるわけ。。？？
ってか、爆笑は失礼だろ
ありがとうくらい言ってけよ
って、ちょっとむかついちゃったりした瞬間でした

この前、お世話になったReduxion Theatre CompanyのブログにMAOのCharacter Analysisの記事が載ることになりました

要約すると、「三番目の魔女の旅！」
最初のアナライシスは自分でも気に入ってたんだけど、弱すぎて、うまく噛み合わなかったの
だから、二番目のアナライシスをしました。
最初は渦巻きから生まれたことにしたんだけど、二番目のはもともとは人間で魔女狩りにあって、逃げて逃げて辿り着いたのは海に突き出した洞窟の中。飢えで死に掛けていました。人間をのろって。そこにHecateが現れて、魂をささげるかわりに、魔力をくれるというから、人間に恨みを持ったままの心で契約を交わした。って言うのが始まりの物語。っと言うことにしてみた

It is always honor to work with Reduxion theatre company. Mr. Tyler Woods, the artistic director of RTC, always respects actor’s creativity. I casted as third witch in Macbeth. When I faced the script at the first time, my question was “What are they?” They could be everything because Shakespeare did not clearly mention it but gave us ideas in his words. Are they just spirit? Are they humane beings? Does Macbeth hallucinate them? I was excited about it. I always love to create unnatural characters. When we had our first discussion, Tyler asked us “how are you interpreting those witches?” All of us had a chance to share our ideas with him. I believe it was greatly working in our later rehearsal. I felt they were more spiritly rather than bodily. In my first character analysis, I created her like this. “She is the youngest of three. Her power is coming from the water. She only foresees the future. She was born from the maelstrom thousands years ago. Her colors are blue and white, her flower is the flower of the ice, her season is winter, her emotion is coming from chilliness, and her energy is very potent and very buoyant. Her goal is killing her boredom in her eternal life and her obstacle is Hecate and her immortality. She reaches her goal. Even though She messed up in the middle, she fix it and enjoy the moment.
Rehearsal by rehearsal, I explored her. I tried to feel her. However, it was not working well. My stakes were too low. I should have realized at the moment. Once we try to feel the character, we are pushing too much. No one can force to feel the character. It is naturally coming. I forgot about it because I was rushing to get my goal. I need to go back to the beginning. “What are they?” Did I carefully listen what she was saying? Did I carefully see what she saw? Did I know what happened in the history of the era when Shakespeare lived? The answer was “no”. I believed I saw it, I listened it, and I feel it. I tried to believe what I create but I could not live in the moment. It was all fake for me. I end up with completely different interpretation of my character.
I researched about the witches in 17th century. Wow… They were treated as a spirit of the devil. she is always hungry. She strongly shows Gluttony, Lust, and Envy from seven deadly sins. she was never fulfilled in her lifetime. Macbeth was "seaweed and Japanese plum" which MAO is currently dying for. I didn't taste them for 2 years now and I am starving for those tastes. Her super objective in this show is tasting Macbeth. He tastes sooo good to them. I considered him as a sacrifice to the evil (devil)/her master. The witch tries to offer him to her master.
These three is belonging to this world from the beginning. She used to be a normal young woman but she creepily behaved sometimes. She preferred the tastes of Animal Flesh. The village people treated her as an Evil or believed she was a witch. The young woman had to run away from them to protect herself. She was ending up in the cave near by the ocean. She suffered her loneliness.
Then, Hecate showed up when I was almost dying because of thirst and hunger. She bargained my soul away and gave me her power instead. My hatred and enmity towards the other human called Hecate. Because those feeling from human is the favorite taste of Hacate. She can smell those kind of emotions. Technically when Hecate put her soul into me, I got knowledge of the witchcraft things and Hecate taught me more details day by day, year by year, and decades by decades.
Those witches are strongly bound because of their minority. They are more spiritual sisters rather than having a Identical genes. For Example, Most of Asian tries to stick together all the time because they felt they are not belonging to the united states . because of our language and our looking. The tragedy in their lives are binding them together. They chose to live in natures because they do not want to go back to where they were. The memory in the humane village was not delightful for them. That's why they refuse to live in the house. They don't feel comfortable, They cannot relax in there. The power of Nature cured them. It was a wonderful, beautiful journey to develop the character. It was fun. It was a gift. I could feel a strong energy from me when I was on stage as her. Because of this feeling, I would love to be standing on the stage again. This is why I cannot stop acting!!
