"The Dream of the Bell Tree" Episode 14.14
(Flashback) July 4th, 1975. My 7th birthday.
The next day...
I was woken up by the sound of loud clapping coming from the first floor. It was only 5am. Normally I would have gone back to sleep, but I was 7 years old. It was Saturday. My father was there. To be honest, I didn't know what was going on, but I got up and went downstairs.
My father was praying with his hands together.
Me: "Good morning, Dad."
Father: "Oh. Good morning."
Me: "Dad. Do gods live in our house too?"
Father: "Yeah. Yes they do."
Me: "Where?"
Father: "Well, they're on the talismans."
The talismans must be at the back of the Shinto altar. I can't see them.
Me: "I want to see the gods!"
My father picked me up and showed me the top of the shelf.
There were three talismans. On the middle talisman, there was the kanji character for "heaven" that I had learned.
Me: "Ten?"
Father: "Oh. That's pronounced as Amato.
Amaterasu-sama."
Me: "Amateru-sama!"
Father: "...Well, I suppose so. I can't come home every day, so from now on, you should pray too.
Me: "What should I pray for?"
Father: "Greetings and gratitude. And pray for everyone's happiness."
Me: "Got it! Amateru-sama! Good morning! Thank you as always!
I hope everyone is happy!"
Father: "Ama... Well, that's fine. Well done."
After my father put me down, he stroked my head.

(End of flashback)
Tree God: "I'm grateful too. You did a good job. But for the future, you must erase your memories of your past life now."
Me: "Don't worry, I decided everything."
The tree god put his hand on my head and made a gesture as if to brush it away.

Me: "Oh, I wonder if I was dreaming? I feel strange."

Tree God: "Do you remember what your grandfather told you?"

Me: "He told me to polish the things I love."

Tree God: "That's right, don't forget that."

Sacred Tree: "Well, it's nearly time. Shall we go home?" The god of branches and leaves untied the hair tie that was tied around himself and gave it back to me.
Then the branches and leaves that were binding the serpent started to slip away, and as they did so they brushed the serpent's eye, which immediately healed. The serpent's upper body once again turned towards the rock, with its hands held up, and chanted some kind of spell.
Then a soul light emerged from the rock and it flew off in that direction.
A voice echoed in the cave.
"Thank you, thank you!" To be continued.

「鈴かけの木の夢」14.14話
（回想）1975年７月4日。　7歳の誕生日。
…の次の日。
　1階から、大きな柏手を打つ音で目が覚める。　まだ朝の5時。いつもの私なら、また寝てしまう所だけれど、7歳になったのだ。土曜日なのだ。父がいるのだ。正直なんだか分からないが、私は起きて、1階に降りて行った。
父は、手を合わせて拝んでいる。　
私「お父さん、おはよう。」
父「ああ。おはよう。」
私「お父さん。神様って、お家にも居てるの？」
父「ああ。居てるよ。」
私「どこに？」
父「そりゃあ、お札におられるんだ。」
　　神棚の奥にお札が有るんだろう。私には見えない。
私「神様見たい！」
　父は、私を抱き上げて棚の上を見せてくれた。
　札は3枚。真ん中の札に、習った漢字の天の文字がある。
私「てん？」
父「ああ。それは、あまと読むんだよ。
あまてらす様。」
私「あまてる様！」
父「…まあ、そうだね。お父さんは、毎日は家に帰って来れないから、これからは、お前もお祈りしてね。
私「何をお祈りすればいいの？」
父「挨拶と感謝だよ。そして、みんなの幸せを願ってね。」
私「分かった！あまてる様！おはようございます！いつもありがとうございます！
みんなが幸せでありますように！」

父「あま…。まあ、いいか。良く出来たね。」

　父は、私を降ろしてから、頭を撫でてくれた。

木の神「我も感謝しておる。良くやってくれた。じゃが、未来のために、今は、過去世の記憶を消さねばならん。」

私「大丈夫よ、全て私が決めた事。」

木の神は、私の頭に枝の手を乗せて、払うような仕草をした。
　
私「あら、私。夢でも見ていたのかしら？不思議な気持ち。」

木の神「お前さんのおじいさんに、言われた事は、覚えているかい？」

私「好きな事を磨いてって言ってたわ。」

木の神「そうじゃ、それを忘れないでいておくれ。」

神木「さあ、そろそろ時間じや。帰ろうか。」枝葉の神は、自分に括られたヘアゴムを解いて私に返してくれた。
そして大蛇を縛りつけている枝葉達がスルスルと外れだして、途中で枝葉が大蛇の眼を撫でると直ぐに眼が直りました。大蛇はまた、上半身が女の人になって岩の方を向くと、手をかざして、何か呪文を唱えました。
すると岩の中から魂の光が出てきて、あそこへ向かって飛んで行きました。
洞窟に声が響いてきます。
「ありがとう、ありがとう！」
