I've met new people, let people in. Some I've embraced; others I've let go. But I will never forget you, like a gentle thumbprint in the soft clay of my life.
I've been brought down to the black hole of a time that I rarely revisit in my mind. The tenuous line shimmering and wavering, occasionally engulfing. But I am back. Stronger because I've been broken, losing myself, holding myself and put back together again. I cherish the scars because they whisper "never again!"
I also rediscovered a part of myself that I thought I had given up. For once, I was not afraid to let out the deep down of my heart. I've done something I could be proud of.
Everything is fleeting, ephemeral; nothing lasts. This year has passed, just as this next year will, just as the last year had. All we have is what we know in the here and now, and now I love you, I thank you.
