Little angel leaving Kamakura ! For a few days we had a cute lovely little angel staying at home, our daily pattern was changed as well as our cats were annoyed by this angel but sure was nice to have with us Sakurako ( angel's name ) please do come back again soon ~ have a nice flight back home to San Francisco.

" 桜 ( sakura )"

This is the cherry tree at 若宮大路（ wakamiya ouji ): take the JR Kamakura Station East Exit out walk straight to a big traffic light ! your here ! Wakamiya ouji st. to your right about 20min. walk
you'll hit the Yuigahama beach, but this time of the year you can walk through the beautiful cherry blossoms tunnel( about 500m long ) ! from Wakamiya ouji st. traffic light, walk to your left and you will see a big red sacred arch AND of course the Cherry Blossoms ~ Wow !
p.s. not yet at this time but sometime next week.

Vernal Equinox Day today !

Most of you are off today I think " 春分の日" here at Kamakura since it's beautiful day I believe theres goining to be lots of people ( tourists )comming and enjoy walking through out the mountain, to the beach, to temple & shrine and by the time they go home ~ many of them will be
holding a yellow paperbag with a drawing of a　white pigeon. Most famous cookie here in Kamakura ~
「　鳩サブレー　」 Hato Sabure ! ~ here goes the truck packed with Pigeon shaped cookies ! get one for your souvenir.

Field trip to Takada Oil (高田製油所)

Took this hydrofoil from Kurihama-harbor to Izuoshima Okada-harbor runs every day from 09:00am and back 15:30pm ( only 1hour ride ) : went to see how they make Camellia oil at 高田製油所the oil which we are using at the salon.

~this shows the most important part of making camellia oil(椿油）、after drying seeds by his long experience separating good & bad seeds, then break, crush, smash　→ steamed 　→　compress.
by the way guy sitting is the 2nd generation and 4th generation is explainnig to midi's boss.

~ good ones here !

Compressing !! for about an hour or little more ~ this machine is more than 80 years old Wow~!

This photo shows the oil made by 1st generation (on your left) 51years old and to your right,
this years oil : might be hard to see by this but both are idenical !　not even rotten.
