京都御所 ～ Kyoto Gosho (Imperial Palace)

紫宸殿

　　Shishinden palace

（紫宸殿前　「左近の桜」　反対側には「右近の橘」）

(In front of Shishinden ,"Sakon no Sakura"

meaning a cherry blossom on the left ,is planted.

In contrast ,"Ukon no Tachibara" , meaning

a wild orange on the right , is also planted.)

御所を囲む京都御苑　春の花が満開

　　Gosho Palace is surrounded by

Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.

Here and there , flowers in spring

妙心寺派に属する.　　本尊は釈迦如来

世界文化遺産

細川勝元が妙心寺の義天玄承を招いて

宝徳２年（１４５０年）に創建

It belongs to Myoshinji school(ZEN).

The principal image is Shakyamuni tahagata.

World Cultural Heritage Site.

Katsumoto Hosokawa left a monk Gensho Giten

from Myoshinji templ to build in 1450(Hotoku 2).

山門近くの鏡容池（きょうようち）には

　　真田幸村の墓が建つ

　　The grave of a famous worrior

Yukimura Sanada is located near

Kyoyochi pond in front of

Sanmon(a main gate of the temple).

庫裏と臥龍梅の襖絵

　　KURI(the priests' living quarters) and

a fusuma(sliding door) picture of

Garyubai(an ume tree like as

the dragon lying down).

有名な枯山水の石庭は史跡・特別名勝

　　虎の子渡し、五智五仏、七五三の石組、

　　心字の象形などと呼ばれる

　　白砂だけを敷き詰めて１５個の石を配置する

　　A famous KARESANSUI(dry landscape)

stone garden is a national historic spot ,

and a special scenic spot.

It is called,

TORANOKO WATASHI

(a child tiger walking across)

GOCHI GOBUTSU

(five knowledges , five Buddha)

SHICHIGOSAN no ISHIGUMI

(seven,five, three assembled stones)

SHINJI no SHOKEI

(hieroglyphic of a mind word) , and so on.

Only white sand is laid and 15 stones are arranged there.

presented by Mitsukuni Mito of

Tokuwaga shougnate.

金閣寺～Kinkakuji temple

相国寺の山外塔頭。

正式名称は鹿苑寺（ろくおんじ）。

足利義満が北山殿として造営し、義光の死後禅寺となる。

世界文化遺産。

The outside branch temple of Shokokuji temple

A formal name is Rokuonji temple.

In 1397(Oei 4) ,Yoshimitsu Ashikaga(shougnate) built

as his villa "Kitayama den" originally.

After his death , it became ZEN temple.

金閣の正式名称は舎利殿（しゃりでん）

　　鏡湖池（きょうこち）を有する

　　初層は法水院（如来殿）

　　二層は和様住宅風の潮音洞（ちょうおんどう）

　　三層は禅宗様仏堂風の究竟頂（くっきょうちょう）

　　Kinkaku is formally this "Shariden"

and surrounded by Kyokochi(mirror lake) pond.

It has 3 stories.

1F:Hossuiin(Nyoraiden)

2F:Choondo is the Japanese house style

3F:Kukkyocho is the ZEN Buddhism hall style

祭神は賀茂別雷神（かもわけいかずちのかみ）

正式名称は賀茂別雷神社（かもわけいかずちじんじゃ）

下賀茂神社とともに賀茂社と総称される

God enshrined is Kamowakeikazuchinokami.

Formally it is called Kamowakeikazuchi shrine.

Together with Shimogamo shrine ,

it is named "Kamosha" generally.

本殿　三間社流造の代表例　　国宝

Main Hall is the typical instance of

Sangenshanagaredukuri design.

A national treasure

玉橋の下の流れは御物忌川（おものいがわ）

御手洗川（みたらしがわ）と合流して楢小川（ならのおがわ）となる

Omonoigawa river flows under Tamabashi bridge

and meets Mitarashigawa river and becomes Naranoogawa river.

徳川家康は、家紋の三ツ葉葵が上賀茂神社の

神紋に似ているため、篤く信仰した。

Shogun(General) Ieyasu Tokugawa believed in godly

as his family crest "three leaves hollyhock" was

similar to a god crest of Kamigamo shrine

　　本殿、高倉殿の特別拝観が季節（不定期）開催される

社家（しゃけ）とは神社に仕える神官の住居。

"Shake" is a residence of a Shinto priest who is in the service of the shrine.

上賀茂神社門前の明神川沿いの一帯には、

　　土塀をめぐらした社家が連続している。

嵯峨鳥居本保存地区～Sagatoriimoto preservation area

嵯峨鳥居本伝統的建造物保存地区は、愛宕街道沿いに形成されている。

江戸時代より、愛宕街道は火を司る神を祀る愛宕神社への参詣道であった。

Sagatoriimoto traditional structures group preservation area is composed along the Atago Road.

Since Edo era（17th - 19th century) , it has been a visiting road

to Atago shrine in which God governing fire is enshrined.

浄土宗　清涼寺　　本尊は　国宝　釈迦如来立像

　　愛宕参道の起点にある　　　別名　「嵯峨釈迦堂」

　　Seiryoji temple belongs to Jodo school.

The principal image is Shakanyorai ryuzo(meaning "standing image")
