The field of elementary teacher education in India is undergoing significant changes. Recently, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has introduced major reforms to improve the quality of teacher training programs like D.El.Ed and B.Ed. These reforms include eliminating dual enrollments, enforcing stricter accreditation for institutions, and emphasizing extended internships to provide better classroom experience to aspiring teachers. Meanwhile,

Goa has announced that it will phase out new admissions for D.El.Ed from the 2025–26 academic session, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP). Students already enrolled will be allowed to complete their programs, and future teacher training will shift towards integrated and postgraduate courses.

In Delhi, the SCERT released the D.El.Ed entrance exam results on June 7, 2025, with counselling rounds beginning shortly after. Similarly, Rajasthan conducted its BSTC (Pre-D.El.Ed) entrance exam on June 1, and the results were declared in mid-June. Qualified candidates are now preparing for the counselling and seat allotment process.

In Chhattisgarh, the Pre-D.El.Ed and Pre-B.Ed answer keys were made public on June 11, enabling candidates to evaluate their performance and raise objections.

Furthermore, the Haryana Board (HBSE) announced the results of the D.El.Ed March 2025 exams in May, with the option for students to apply for re-evaluation open until the end of June.

Overall, the D.El.Ed landscape is evolving rapidly, with both central and state-level authorities implementing new policies to raise the standards of teacher education across the country.
