仕事紹介
私は大学で職員として働いています。
大学職員というと、「どんな仕事しているの？」とよく聞かれます。
他業種の人には、大学職員の仕事のイメージが中々沸かないのだと思います。
大学職員の仕事は多種多様で、色々やっています。
学生の面倒、カリキュラム作成、研究助成、入試、キャリア支援、建物管理などなど。
5年に一度くらいでジョブローテーションがあり、
都度、自分のキャリアがリセットされながら、職員としての経験値を積んでいきます。
キャリアの方向性は、完全なるゼネラリストです。
専門性は身につきません。
でも、実際に大学を運営するのは、教員というよりも職員の裁量が大きいです。
非常にやりがいのある仕事だと思います。
I work in university as an administrative staff.
People often say, "What do you exactly do at work?"
They can not picture it because they are not interested and it is far from theirs.
An university has a lot kinds of jobs.
For example, caring for students, designing a curriculum,
research grant, entrance exam, career support,facility management, and so on.
We have a job rotation about once every five years.
And the job we've experienced gets refreshed every time we are transfered.
Under these circumstances, we build up experience of university jobs.
We are definitely heading to generalists and gain a little bit expertise.
But I think management of university, if anything, depends on administrative staff
rather than professors.
I'm sure our job is rewarding.
