ESOcast 6: Lightest Exoplanet Found
mmtheory — 2009年04月22日 — Well-known exoplanet researcher Michel Mayor announced on 21 April 2009 the discovery of the lightest exoplanet found so far. The planet, e, in the famous system Gliese 581, is only about twice the mass of our Earth. The team also refined the orbit of the planet Gliese 581 d, first discovered in 2007, placing it well within the habitable zone, where liquid water oceans could exist. These amazing discoveries are the outcome of more than four years of observations using the most successful low-mass-exoplanet hunter in the world, the HARPS spectrograph attached to the 3.6-metre ESO telescope at La Silla, Chile.

実は、このＶ。私はあんまり重視してません。
「地球に似た」といっても生命の可能性を言いたいんでしょうが、「遥か彼方」の太陽系ではなく、
このソーラ・システムに、ほかの人類のかたがた・我々の先輩方、住んでらっしゃいますから。
↑どっからそんなホラが吹けるのだと笑われるのでしょうから詳しくいいません（きっぱり）。
注目したいのはＶ後半。ハープのスペクトログラフで解析したのだとしきりと強調するところ。
発信ではなく、受信器としてのハープで、他太陽系の他惑星の状態まで観測できてしまうということに驚きました。いまHaarp を操作できるというのが大変なアドバンテージになるようです。
