It has passed really long time since the last time I renewed my blog.
I am still OK. I was just very busy due to my students of my part-time job.
Why am I writing in English?
It's only because my keyboard doesn't work well. (^▽^;)
I cannot type in Japanese.
However, it's good opportunity to remind me that I have to keep studying English.
I will be an English teacher from this April.
Anyway, I sometimes think that English should be taught in English even though in Junior high schools or Elementary schools in Japan.
It is because originally Japanese and English is quite a different languages.
Both cannot be translated completely.
Also, the background, such as cultures, religions, ways of thinking and so on, of both languages are different.
Who can understand other languages without knowing these backgrounds?
The typical example is how to use "let."
"LET" means " not prevent or forbid; allow (Oxford Dictionary Online)."
We usually use the word in Japanese; for example, "My teacher lets me go to toilet." or "My parents let me study abroad."
We also can use the word like that in English.
However, we never say "Let me..." in Japanese even though English speakers often say like that such as "Let me introduce myself.", "Please let me know about that.", "Let me ask you some questions."
This happens because Japanese only know the meaning of "let" as "permitting," and Japanese people often study each of vocabulary words with ONE meaning of Japanese.
That obviously prevent Japanese people from studying English.
Teaching English in English.
It may be the ideal way of teaching English.
It will be started in high schools from the next year, but Junior high schools not.
The topic might be my lifelong question.
