Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  Thanksgiving Day was on Thursday in the U.S.  By chance, my daughter came home to visit this week.  I was telling her about Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., especially about the food.  I told her that I wished I had a pumpkin pie.  Pumpkin pie, turkey, and cranberry sauce are the "must haves" (欠かせない物) of Thanksgiving Day dinner.

Right away, my daughter started checking the internet for pumpkin pie recipes.  She's a great cook in general, so I was happy and excited when she said that she would make a pumpkin pie!  We went shopping for ingredients (材料), and when we got home she immediately started making the pie.

It was so good!  Not only did it taste delicious, but it tasted like home!  And I appreciated (感謝する) my daughter making it for me.  The spices in pumpkin pie smell like winter holidays--cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg.  What a wonderful smell!

I messaged with my mother today.  She told me that this year they didn't eat turkey for dinner.  They decided to eat roast beef instead.  And my father made 2 pies!  He is also a good cook.

Guess what I had for lunch today?  Leftover (残り物) pumpkin pie!  It tastes even better 2 days later.  The flavor of the spices really develops over time.

One thing I'm so thankful for are all the wonderful people I get to meet through my classes.  Thank you, everyone!
