Before I head to Nakahechi, the imperial Route to Kumano, I visited
Tokei Shrine in early morning. It is a modest shrine included on UNESCO ‘s list of Sacred Site in Kii. The shrine enshrines BENKEI, Japanese warrior monk who lived in 12th century. He is depicted as a man of great strength and loyalty. I bought an Omamori, Japanese amulets. Thanks to the Omamori I’ll be a “winner” in near future!
After that, I joined up with an interpreter guide group I belong and had a training session for the trekking tour of Nakahechi.
