Hey, every woman loves a good splurge - but it's pointless to spend half your
paycheck on a cream with a hefty price tag in the triple digits - especially
when a drugstore or mass retailer duplicate will do just fine. Clueless about
how to get more bang for your buck? Here are some of the most coveted department
store brand products - and how you can get the same look for half the
price.
It was about two years ago that I noticed my lashes had pretty
much thinned out almost to the point of nonexistence. How much would it cost to
buy a really good mascara that would perk up those remaining wisps? As it turns
out, the question was not so much how much it would cost, but rather where on
earth to find a decent mascara in the first place.
De-Slick is pretty pricey at a whopping $29,
but for those looking for a great finishing powder or blotting powder, it is a
great contender. I sure hope none of the $29 was for the compact, but will the
cute design, it probably was. I would happily pay for this product again, but
hope it will not break the next time.
Like almost every other urban decay
palette I have reviewed, Flipside has a great formula featuring: superb
blendability, awesome staying-power, amazing pigmentation, and super soft on the
eye. So far, I have yet to come across any eyeshadow Naked Eyeshadow Palette
that has a
better formula than urban decay palettes. I guess maybe some select MAC Frosts
and Veluxe Pearls, but they are very inconsistent. When you buy an urban decay
palette, you are guaranteed a good product. As I always say about urban decay
palettes, they will last all day with a base, but without, you may see some
fading- Flipside is no exception.
Instead of Sting making my eyelids look
cool it just made my skin look sallow and on top of that I looked like I Eyes For Urban
Decay
had an eye infection because of this urban decay eyeshadow
Shadow.
Recently naked palette came out with a great new product called
All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. When they debuted it, I received
an email about it and immediately checked out. It seemed like a great product
for me. According to naked palette, the All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting
Spray is a mist that you spray over your face after you've applied your makeup.
naked palette claims that the product helps prevent "loss of color, melting,
sliding, caking, cracking, excessive shin, fading blush, dropping eyeshadow, and
lip color disappearance." To me it seemed like the perfect product, so I decided
to make the $29 commitment and buy the 4.0 fl oz. bottle of naked palette All
Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.
What I liked about E.L.F's
mineral eyeshadow primer is that it's easy to apply. The primer comes in a lip
gloss-like tube and is applied with a lip gloss-like applicator. It goes on very
smooth and evenly. I found that it blends well too, and has a nice silky texture
to it. I thought that it dried fairly quickly as well. I liked that because it's
an E.L.F. product I know that this eyeshadow primer wasn't tested on animals. As
for the price, a tube only costs me $3, definitely a lot more affordable than
Urban Decay's eyeshadow Primer Potion.
I highly recommend this product.
It's well priced; you're not paying for fancy packaging or 'branding'. Plus,
it's in a price range that almost everyone can afford. And best of all, it
really lives up to its hype. It makes a remarkable difference on my eyelashes.
When I use this new brand of Maybelline mascara, my lashes are back! They're
back!
