Unified administrators subbing under fake names to get close look at schools

Unified Superintendent Lolli Haws is among those administrators, and a human services complaint has been filed against Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Jersey her in relation to an incident that reportedly happened April 25 while she was subbing for half a day in a first grade classroom at Knapp Elementary School, 2701 17th St. Human services and district officials have declined to comment on what happened or what the complaint alleges. The matter is under investigation.
Unified Chief Academic Officer Rosalie Daca and Unified Chief of Human Capital Dan Thielen are the other administrators who have substitute taught. They each subbed in a math class at Gilmore Middle School, 2330 Northwestern Ave., on Feb. 25; Daca took half the day and Thielen took the other half, according to Unified spokeswoman Stacy Tapp.
Haws, Daca and Thielen are all former classroom teachers and have the necessary Davante Adams Womens Jersey degrees and certifications to sub, Tapp said.
Substitute assignments for the administrators were not made under their real names, Tapp said, "but when they arrived in the buildings they announced themselves. The intent was to ensure no unnecessary pressure or stress was placed on teachers. And the goal was to provide as normal an environment as possible."

Racine Education Association teachers union Vice President Aaron Eick denounced "the failed practice of RUSD chiefs using fake names to substitute" during a School Board meeting Monday. His comment was met with raucous applause from other teachers at the meeting.

"We wanted to get on the ground level to experience what our educators experience in the classroom each day."
The result for administrators has been "a heightened appreciation" of what staff members do and more understanding of what they need, Tapp added.

When asked if any more substitute teaching by administrators would happen, Tapp said, "We currently don't have any administrators scheduled to sub, but we intend to continue our effort to be present and visible in our schools.".
