Introduction

I recently borrowed a book called “Photoshop & Illustrator & Firefly: A Beginner’s Guide to AI-Generated Design.”
It was packed with creative poster ideas using AI.

Then I realized—I’ve never actually made a poster myself.
So I decided to give it a try, using ChatGPT as my creative partner.

The Apple Incident

I started with a simple photo of a few apples.
When I asked ChatGPT to “add more apples,” the result was an apple overload! 🍎🍎🍎

It looked a bit over the top, but I thought—why not use it for a cider poster?

Generating the Cider

Since I didn’t have any cider photos, I asked ChatGPT to generate one from scratch, with a transparent background.

Then I used ibisPaintX (with some guidance from ChatGPT) to combine the cider image with the apples.

At first, the glass transparency didn’t look right.
So I tried generating the cider with the glass included from the start—and yes, that worked much better!

The Result

In the end, I managed to create something that actually looked like a poster.
It’s not as polished as a professional designer’s work, of course.
But for someone with zero artistic talent, I was impressed that I could even make it look like a poster at all.

Thanks to AI, the barrier to entry for design feels much lower now.
Next time, I’d like to try something even more playful.
