Toronto has winter for about 5 months (November- March). Toronto is legitimately cold enough to wear a winter jacket for almost half the year.

One would likely use the TTC in the winter to avoid the weather. $2.75/ trip (The average price since I’ve lived here- even though it has gone up).

You would likely spend about 100-300$ on a winter jacket that would keep you pretty warm.

You would likely spend another 200-300$ on Base layer clothing, sweaters, scarves, toques/hats, gloves, earmuffs etc. (really, think about ALL your base/winter clothing and really add it up. It’s expensive.)

5 months x 20 days (I would prob take the TTC a month) x $2.75X2 (Round trip) =

550$ saved on transportation

300-600$ saved on canada goose sale

In one winter I would have spent 850-1150$ on Transport and Clothing sans Canada Goose

With my Canada Goose I’ve probably taken the TTC 5-10 times this winter season due to weather. I spent exactly $672.35 (595+tax), in an overpriced store in Yorkville, for a long Canada Goose parka. (10×2.75) + 672.35= $699.85

Yes, I realize you wouldn’t buy winter clothing every year. You wouldn’t buy a Canada Goose every year either.

Yes, I realize some people already have sweaters, scarves etc- I don’t. I can literally fit everything I own in life (clothing AND possessions) (excluding books) in a large suitcase. I’m a minimalist. Reducing my winter wears wares to a single coat is incredibly convenient and space saving canada goose.

But yes, I agree that Canada Goose Jackets that don’t cover your crotch (i.e. the bomber jackets) are pretty useless and they have no winter value. You can make fun of those.
