machinery for aggregate quarry from turkey JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) - Gold and uranium producer Simmer & Jack Mines (Simmers) announced on Tuesday that Marius Saaiman would replace Robert Cowley as its CFO from July 1.
Saaiman joins Simmers from Macquarie First South Advisers where he fulfilled the role of resources mergers and acquisitions MD.
Simmers CEO Nico Schoeman said that Saaiman brought a wide range of skills and experience to the miner's executive team, which would assist it in growing and developing the company into a midtier gold producer.
Saaiman said that the Simmer's board had made some incisive and tough decisions over the past months to lay strong foundations for the future.
Previously, Saaiman held positions as African Global Capital investment adviser and Kumba Iron Ore corporate finance and treasury head.
He also served as Anglo American corporate finance vice-president, where he advised the company on the De Beers empowerment transaction, the Tongaat Hulett unbundling and listing of Hulamin and the merger of its sugar interests in Zimbabwe, as well as advising Mondi on its empowerment transactions in South Africa with Shanduka.
