Actually we were trying make a guinness record by making 40 countries food and put it into 1㎡ Osechi box but it was neglected by Guiness + actual cook were from only 14 countries so...
Well! It was fun so everything's OK! lol
And and and! It's my recent update but I will take off my university for a year or little more.
What?! What DOES IT MEAN?! ARE YOU OK?????
私も休学って考えられない人間でした^^;
I know what you are thinking!
I was also the one who couldn't think of taking off university before.
But when I spent these 3 years at APU and AP House, I felt, "Am I ok like this?!"When I saw many international students who learns Japanese in here and able to speak it fluently in just a year.
I must thank to my parents but then I remember back the reason why I thought to enter this APU, it was all inspired by my middle school life at Tunisia. I was very interested in Arabic and I thought APU can give me a opportunity to learn Arabic as my 3rd language because it was famous to be known as international univerity in Japan.
But reality was different. Arabic culture is still a mystery in global society and I couldn't have enough chance to be attach with Islamic culture in APU.
で、ようやく大学3回生にして休学を決意しました^^;
APU gave me a lot of important opportunity such as being RA in AP House but I just wanted to be honest to what I really want to do for my future. I can't say any words other than "Thank you" to my parents and friends for understanding my decision. These were the process how I could decide my taking off university in 3rd year at university.
I am going to Tunisia from the mid of May >v<
Ofc! I will keep up with my food report!
BTW, I made Harissa like last month!
Harissa is just like Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) in Tunisia
Since there was Korean boom in Japan, maybe most people know about Korea.
The food is called, "Loppoki".
Isn't it a bit unfamiliar name?
We know "Toppogi", the Korean mochi since it is very famous.
Rappogi was just like noodle nabe putting toppogi as an ingredient.
It was good for these cold season in winter.
The ingredients were noodle, egg, Chinese cabbage, beef, toppogi, and Gochujan (Korean red chili paste).
According to Jidon and Jin-san, there are always store like selling Lappogi in around any schools from elementary to high school. It just like mom-and-pop candy store around the schools in Japan ;)
In addition, they said that the price will be around 100 yen in 1 cup.
BTW, when we say about Korean food, we always think about Kimuchi. So i asked them about little trivia about Kimuchi in Korea.
1. There is Kimuchi refrigerator in Korea.
They say Kimuchi refrigerator is different from normal refrigerator!!!
BTW Jidon told me "If you go to Korea, you will have more spicy Lappogi. This is not spicy enough." when I told him Lappogi that he made was very spicy for me.
It was very spicy enoughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Then I asked Jidon and Jin-san if they have Obento culture in Korea.
The answer was no. But they said the school provide luch for students.
In addition, they said there is no product like Obento in Korean convenience store.
Very interesting!!!!!!!!
We have different culture despite the distance.
Jidon, Jin-san thank you for your cooperation! I want to eat Lappogi again!
By the way, the Philippines is the country that I can never forget of...
The Philippines is the country where I experienced terrible food poisoning and at that time, I really thought the Philippines will be the place for my grave.
Be careful when you eat strawberry☆
BTW, Camille and Aaron introduced me the Philippino food!
Left: Camille Right: Aaron
I will post several pictures of their cooking.
Awwwwwww these makes me so hungry!!!!
Introduction time!
Left: Inasal Right: Adovo
According to Camille, Adovo is most famous Philippino food.
This time, I will briefly introduce how to cook Philippino food(*
For Inasal, you should put chicken into mixed source made out of soy source, sugar, vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper for more than 2 hours.
Then you fry it until the source get sticky.
Finish!
Adovo uses pork.
Then you boil it with soy source, sugar, pepper, vinegar, onion, and potato,
The point in here is to not stir the ingredients for 10 min. Please just leave it as it is.
The reason why you should not stir it is because Adovo will become sour by the vinegar.
In AP house, people gather at the kitchen table and eat together like the picture on above.
The picture in above is taken today. Resident from the Philippines, Nepal, and Vietnam were sharing their cultural food together.
AP house is really a place where you can experience the muticultural environment.
Well, I will get back to the interview.
Q1. Are they any ingredient that is always in Philippino food?
Answer:
Garlic is always there. Rice is very important too!
Well, we do not have the culture like Japanese way of Obento. Parents make easy thing like hotdog or sandwich but these things can be cooked by mother or bought in the outside.
In other word, there is no culture like to put variety types of food in one tiny lunch box as in Japan.
At last, Camille told me Philippino people always eat their food with rice.
That is the reason why Philippino people always make dish a bit salty taste.
This is trivia but in the Philippines, there are 7 names for rice in each different stage.
"As you can see from this trivia, rice is really important thing for our life."
Camille, Aaron, thank you for your cooperation!
The food was really delicious with the rice!
So so so it is time for Kitchen Duty, c u guys later!
