Toyo University’s Faculty of Regional Development Studies (RDS) has been adopted into the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) AY2012 Project for the Promotion of Global Human Resource Development - Type B.
Inaugurated in 2012, this project was established with the aim of changing the observed inward-looking orientation of Japan’s college students, raising the international competitiveness of Japanese industries, and ultimately promoting greater relations between countries in the world. This project provides targeted government financial aid to colleges and universities engaged in the promotion of university education towards globalization. Type B was open to initiatives that aim to achieve the above outcomes through the involvement of a leading faculty within the university.
A total of 152 submissions were made by 129 universities throughout Japan (regarding both Type A and B). Thirty-one applications were accepted in Type B, including Toyo University’s Faculty of Regional Development Studies (RDS).
Summary of RDS’s Project for the Promotion of Global Human Resource Development application is as follows.
