Ok, so I am leaving on Friday for Japan!!!!!!!!!! And I am closed to finishing packing!!!!!!!
I am excited and nervous
I hope that I can get all of my luggage through without any problems.
I hope that I can get a cell phone once I get into Tokyo
I hope Japanese customs is not like hell
-->I went to Canada earlier this summer and US customs was hell-ish
I hope that I will have enough stuff to do on the plane
--> gogo wireless on the plane is so expensive that I think I would probably spend all the money in my pockets before arriving in Japan (-_-;).

Last week, I received my visa to enter Japan.
The visa application process is very complicated.
This is what I had to do...
I had to fill out this form that I can obtain from my nearest consulate General office website or through the Japanese embassy website.
Since the nearest Consulate General office from my area (Akron, OH) is in Detroit, a road trip is not possible (it is possible but bothersome), so I had to fill out a release of liability with my passport and a passport-sized photo.
The longest wait for me with all of my passport needs was the Certificate of Eligibility from Nagasaki Gaidai
I did obtain the certificate of eligibility and well I sent everything to the Consulate General office through th mail.
Several days later, I obtained an e-mail from the Consulate General Office.
The e-mail was that they did not obtain my application and well, I had it in my copier.
Several weeks after that (last week), I went to my city's post office and picked up my visa!
Also, my certificate of eligibility was stapled to my passport.
So That was my visa process.
Countdown: over 4 weeks until I leave for Japan

Yesterday, I got my host family info!!!!!!!
Well first off:
From the info I got from them, their house is closer to Downtown Nagasaki than from the Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies (the school where I am studying at)
And:
In my host family I will also live with two other 留学生 <ryuugakusei> (foreign exchange students/students studying abroad)
And:
Also from the info given, my host parents had experience with 留学生 <ryuugakusei> before
And:
I have to take the bus to school
And Finally:
Now I have to get presents for my host family!!!!!!
