オランダ人!?‐おもしろ英語♪

go dutch

「（食事や集まりなどで）各自が自分の分を払うこと」を意味する。「割り勘にする（合計金額を均等割りにする）」の意で使うこともある。（例文）She wanted to go Dutch with me at the restaurant last night.（彼女は昨夜レストランで私と割勘にしたがった）。

double Dutch
「意味が全く理解できないことば、ちんぷんかんぷんな話」の意。オランダ語（Dutch）がとても難しく聞こえることから。《英》の語法。
Dutch courage
「酔った勢い、酒でつけた度胸」の意。（例文）He needed some Dutch courage before he went in to see his employer about his pay increase.（昇給の件で雇い主に会いに行く前に、彼は酒を飲んで元気をつけなければならなかった）。

「ずけずけものを言う人、厳しく指導してくれる人」の意。
