現在、サンフランシスコで一番高いと言われているビルが、
セールスフォースタワー
名前からもわかるように、セールスフォースがあるビルになります。
オープンした当初はたいへん話題になっていました。
まず、その高さ、そしてちょっと面白いビルの形
６１階建の超高層ビルで、高さが、1,070フィート＝３２６メートル。
２０１８年にオープンしました。
アクセンチュアやWeWorkなども入っています。
また、新しいバスターミナルと直結。セールスフォーストランジットセンター（元トランスベイミッションセンター）は、ベイエリア各地からのバスが集まり、より便利に。
ただ、オープンしてすぐに、建物の一部に少し亀裂が見つかったらしく、しばらくバスターミナルが休止していたことも。
余談ですが、
実は、近くに建っているミレニアムタワーが何と地盤が緩く少しずつ傾いていて、問題になっています。住民は一体どんな気持ちなのでしょう。。。YouTubeで、いかに部屋が傾いているか、ボールを転がしている映像が話題になったことも。いまだに解決されていません。サンフランシスコの傾いているタワーと呼ばれるほどです。
セールスフォースタワーは地震にも耐えられるように建てられたと聞いています。
さらに、そのバスターミナルの上に公園？庭園？ができました。市内にちょっとした緑の多い公園ができたのは嬉しかったです。
最上階はオハナ階と呼ばれ、２０１９年にイベントスペースとしてオープンしましたが、現在はコロナのため閉まっています。
かなりお金がかかっているこのビル、コロナ禍で、しばらくリモートワークが続いているので、どうしているのか気になるところ
ブルームバーグによると、セールスフォースは、このパンデミックが終わった後も社員は、どこで働いて良い、という方針を取ることに決めたそうです。
そして、６５％の社員は今後世界中にあるオフィスに週に１−３回に行くことになると予想。
サンフランシスコには約9,000人程社員がいて、６１階のうち３６階分は埋まっているとのことですが、オフィスの維持をどうするのか気になります。
ピンタレストは、去年、コロナ禍で、$89.9 million支払って、サンフランシスコの新しいオフィスの賃貸契約を終了させたようで、サンフランシスコにオフィスがある会社が、今後オフィスをどうして行くのか。。。
既にたくさんのオフィススペースが空いている状況で、寂しい感じがします。
Salesforce Tower:

The tallest building in San Francisco at this moment is Salesforce Tower.
As you can guess from the name, there's Salesforce office in the building. When it was open in 2018, a lot of people were talking about this building due to its height and its interesting shape. It has 61 floors with the height of 1,070 feet = 326 m. Accenture and WeWork have their offices also as well as other large companies.
It directly connects to a bus terminal, Salesforce Transit Center (it used to be called Transbay Mission Center) which connects other San Francisco Bay Area and it becamse convenient. Right after it opened, they found a little crack on the wall and closed the section for a little while.
It's a little off-topic, but there is a building called Millennium Tower close to Salesforce Tower. Due to the loose ground, it is gradually inclining and became controversial. It's not a joke but some residents were making a YouTube video showing how a golf ball could move and it got viral. I don't think the problem is solved yet, which is scary. It is known as the leaning tower of San Francisco.
I heard that Salesforce Tower is well-built and it should tolerate an earthquake.
There's a garden on top of Salesforce Transit Center! It was a great news to have a park with lots of greens in the middle of downtown.
The top floor is called Ohana Floor which was open in 2019 as an event space. It is temporarily closed due to Covid-19.
I can imagine they spent a lot of money to build this tower and I got curious how they are going to deal with this after Covid 19 as most people would continue to work from home. According to Bloomberg, Salesforce announced the "work from anywhere" policy even after pandemic. They expect 65% of empleyees would go to their global office from one to three times a week. About 9,000 employees are in San Francisco bay are and 36 floors are occupied.
Meanwhle, Pinterest ended the lease on its new San Francisco Office by paying 89.9 million. I can tell many comapanies that have an office in San Francisco are debating on what they would do with their offices in the future. It's very sad to see many empty offices in San Francisco already.
