National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE- Mains) every year. The exam takes place in two sessions. So, candidates can either appear in both sessions or one session. Paper 1 is for Engineering and Paper 2 is for Architecture. So, while filling the application form of JEE Main, candidates need to select the correct Paper choice. 

 

In order to appear for JEE Mains 2021, candidates should acknowledge the guidelines prescribed by NTA. The guidelines include paper timings, instructions for examination, reporting time, etc. In this article, we will discuss all the rules and regulations of JEE Main, dress code, exam schedule, etc.

JEE Mains Examination Guidelines 2021

Check the list of exam day guidelines of JEE Main 2021 examination before appearing for the JEE Main Paper 1 & Paper 2 exam. 

 

  • Make sure to carry JEE Main Admit Card 2021 to the exam centre. Also, briefly check all the details regarding the examination, candidate’s details, etc

  • In addition to the admit card of JEE Main, candidates need to carry one black ballpoint pen, transparent water bottle, passport size photograph, any government ID proof

  • Reach the JEE Main Exam Centre prior to the commencement of examination in order to avoid the last minute hassle

  • Candidates must carefully listen to the invigilator’s instructions before the beginning of the exam

  • Also, candidates should occupy their own seats. Anybody who is found to be sitting on somebody else’s seat will not be allowed to give the examination. So, check the roll number carefully before occupying the seat

  • Those who are going to appear for Paper 2 Aptitude Test have to bring their necessary items (geometry box, pencil, colors, etc)

  • Candidates cannot carry smart watches or electronic gadgets inside the examination hall. Only simple watches are allowed

  • While filling the attendance sheet, candidates must carefully check their full name, signature, roll number, etc. Do not make any mistakes

  • During the conduct of the examination, candidates must remain in silence. In case there is any query, then the candidates should convey to the invigilator by raising their hand

  • Talking to other candidates while the examination is ongoing is prohibited. Any candidate who is found to be cheating or misbehaving will be debarred from giving the examination

JEE Main Guidelines (Diabetic Candidates)

Candidates who are diabetes patients can carry fruits as per their needs or sugar tablets. But, NTA will not allow packaged food items, such as chocolates, candies, etc. Make enough preparations beforehand to give the exam peacefully. 

JEE Main Dress Code

As such, there is no restriction regarding the clothes for candidates. However, there are certain clothing items that are forbidden. Check the pointers below.

 

  • Candidates cannot wear thick soled shoes

  • Metal objects/ items and jewellery is not allowed 

  • Also, candidates cannot wear large sized button clothes
