平等院（BYODOIN TEMPLE）
平等院は、永承七年（1052）に関白藤原頼道によって父道長の別荘を寺院に改め創建された建築物です。
In 1052, the year which according to Buddhist beliefs was the first years of the period of the decline of Buddhism, Fijiwara Yorimichi, who was then the Kampaku(chief advisor to the Emperor), converted a villa of his father, Michinaga into a temple.
天候もよかったため、内覧会は２時間以上待ちという状態でした。
鳳凰堂は、経典に描かれる浄土の楼閣をイメージした、優美で軽快な建物です。
This is the Phoenix Hall, which was elegantly and lightly designed to present the image of a many-storied building as depicted in sutras.
平等院の朱印を押してもらいました。
朱印とは、神社や寺院において、参拝者向けに押印される印章、印影のことです。
１種類、300円で書いていただけます。初めてだったので、朱印帳は平等院で購入しました。一冊1000円です。
