In under18 boys action Sunday, the Cape Breton Selects played to a scoreless draw against Halifax County United, with solid goaltending by Cape Breton's Ethan McInnis and Halifax County's Sam Slaunwhite.
The Selects under18 boys kicked off their season Saturday with a 31 loss to Halifax County. Ross Mitchell led the way for United with a pair of goals, with his teammate Hyun Gu Kang rounding out the scoring with a single.
Kyle Samson netted the lone tally for the Nike Air Jordan 1 Selects.
In under14 boys play, the Cape Breton Selects shut out Halifax County twice over the weekend.
Sunday, the Selects recorded a 40 win with singles from Mike White, Kendal McNeil, MaEbou Secka and Luke MacArthur. Saturday, Cape Breton posted a 30 victory over Halifax County, with single tallies by Jared MacInnis, White and McNeil. Simon Keating recorded both shutouts in goal for the Selects.
