For example, my friend and I are in disagreement about Gangs of New York, I think it is an awesome example of story telling using a narrative he thinks the film would have been better without the narration. Ive found Bon Joong Ho films hard to get into. I can see he is a brilliant director but sometimes his tones can shift so dramatically during scenes and it ruins my immersion. Like in Snowpiercer, great movie, great acting and direction, but there were comedic moments from Kang-ho Song's character which just didnt fit together with the rest of the scene. The same thing happened in The Host. I dont know but is this a cultural thing? Or am I just wierd?.
