Offense: This isn't as much of a football analysis as it is an appreciation for one of the great secrets of the NFL. And that secret's name is George Wilson. The Bills' safety can do it all. And if you watched this past Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles (I'm guessing a lot of you didn't because the Giants were playing at the same time), you saw he indeed did it all.
Wilson played high and played low. He covered, he came off the D.J.Hayden Authentic Jersey edge on blitzes, flew up to provide run support, made tackles in the open field and even had an interception off a deflection. Wilson, a former undrafted free agent of the Detroit Lions, has three interceptions so far this year and nine since the start of the 2009 season. I'd be lying to you if I said I watched him closely over the past few years, but from what I've seen the guy can flatout play. And he's a smart team leader as well.
The 30yearold Wilson hasn't gotten a ton of pub because he plays for the Bills. But each wellplayed game in a Buffalo victory will introduce him to more and more NFL fans. Sunday will be his introduction to Giants fans. So keep an eye on No. 37.
Defense: As we told you earlier this afternoon, the Bills will be without starting LT Demetrius Bell, who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury. That means rookie fourthround pick Chris Hairston gets his second career start. Last week against the Eagles, Hairston showed he's a physical presence and can handle a Dend if he gets his hat on him. He's strong and he plays that way.
But the one thing I noticed, and I'm sure Giants DE Osi Umenyiora noticed as well, is Hairston's feet looked awfully slow out there. He had problems dealing with DE Darryl Tapp's speed moves. And that was Tapp; imagine if DE Trent Cole was in there. That would have been a huge problem for Hairston. So this weekend, Umenyiora could create massive problems for the Bills. And I mean bigtime problems. The way he's been moving and getting off the line, he figures to give Hairston fits.
Now, the two ways to combat that are to give your tackle help, which I fully expect the Bills to do. And the other way is to run screens and draws that take advantage of upfield rushes. The Bills did a ton of that last www.raidersofficialonline.com/25_djhayden_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html week against the Eagles' "wide nine" look and were successful doing it. They ran screens on the perimeter and up the middle as well. They'll be doing it again this Sunday, just like the Seattle Seahawks did last week, which led to the confusion on the gamewinning touchdown.
Umenyiora said Fitzpatrick has gotten rid of the ball in an average of 1.5 seconds, a figure aided by the number of screen passes. When he does hold it, Umenyiora has to take advantage of that. Look for him to do it off the edge and even with a few spin moves. But also look for him to set up that repertoire with a couple of bull rushes to keep Hairston honest.

He was on the field for only one play last week. I wouldn't be shocked if he got more action this weekend. It sounds like the Giants would like to get him involved soon.
