カナダで使っていたバックパックの中からメモが出てきた。
ホストファミリーに向けて書いたお礼の手紙の下書きだった。
あの時の気持ちを忘れないよう、ここにも書いて残しておこうとおもう。
My Dear family,
"有り難う"(A-RI-GA-TO). This is Japanese.
The translation of this word is "Thank you".
I'd like to explain the meaning of each Chinese characters.
"有";aru
exist, be, have, happen, find
"難";katai
difficult, be, have, rare, unusual
Thankful things are rare to happen. To be given kindness from someone is difficult to have.
Therefore, what I want to tell you is that, I would like to say "ARI GATO" to you.
We are always given something from someone.
Sometimes people don't notice it is a great thing.
We are living with helping each other. We musn't forget it.
This study abroad in Canada wouldn't be able to be realized without your helping and kindness.
What you've done for me is a extremely rare situation.
Any words are not enough to tell you my thankfulness.
I'm being spoiled for sure, I'd like to enjoy it, and always appreciate that.
Thank you for that you welcome me to this family.
Thank you for your glorias kindness.
Thank you very much! "ARIGATO".
Best Regards, and Love
Daisuke
