Back in 2008 LeBron James was riding a wave of personal accomplishments unlike he ever seen before. He had just finished leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to their best record in the franchise history at 66-16 and took home his first MVP trophy. Before he left for China for the 2008 Summer Olympics (in which he took home the Gold Medal as part of the Redeem Team) LeBron headed out to Beaverton, Oregon as part of the LeBron World Tour. Employees were treated to an exclusive pair of the Nike LeBron VI, which featured a black and orange color scheme with a date stitched onto the tongue while a Metallica-inspired text (you notice the text also doubles as the Yeezus Tour font this year) reads World Tour on the inner lining. The 2013-2014 NBA Season has been an interesting one for LeBron James particularly on the sneaker side of things. Before the season started, we braced ourselves for an onslaught of PE colorways of the LeBron 11, but that hasn been the case! Due to some issues with fit, LeBron has depended on a rotation of sneakers that feature the newest signature, LeBron 10, LeBron 10 Elite, and Zoom Soldier VII (the last of that group getting some extra shine on the PE front). The question is: does LeBron sneaker selection affect his play? Does the data tell us what sneaker LeBron should rock for the rest of the season?
The relationship between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant is rather difficult to describe briefly. The two may have the utmost of respect in one other, teaming up in two consecutive Olympic Games, but the competition is absolutely fierce when the two square off. They yet to encounter one another on a truly significant platform (the NBA Finals), but whether it be a regular season game or an All-Star exhibition, neither players lets up. In a surprising move, LeBron James changed up his sneaker rotation by wearing the Nike Kobe 6 Prelude during a leisurely Sunday of NFL Playoff games. Would Kobe return the favor and wear some LeBrons? Let us know what you think of King James rocking Kobe shoes.
