I live in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan.  Saitama Prefecture is located north next to Tokyo.  Kawagoe City is at south-east of Saitama.

Kawagoe thrived from trading with Edo in the Edo Period.  Kawagoe suffered from a big fire in 1893.  On the way to recovering, many houses with thick wall against fire were built in downtown Kawagoe.  Those houses are seen along the main street still now.  Many people including travelers from overseas visit those areas, and enjoy the scenery all day long.

Prime Minister Abe says that tourism is a very important industry in this nation.  I agree with him.  Kawagoe seems to get a lot of energy from visitors.   I hope more accommodations reformed from such houses will be opened in the future.  And some walking tours should be conducted at many places in the town.  I hope many visitors know a lot of good points in this town.
