我是一位在东京的学生,我平时的喜好就是打游戏和出去玩。

I'm a student in Tokyo, and my hobbies are playing games and going out.

 

我玩过很多的游戏,也参加过一些比赛。

I've played a lot of games, and I've participated in some tournaments.

我发现选择鼠标垫对很多玩家来说是一件很难的事情。

I find that choosing a mouse pad is a difficult task for many gamers.

 

并且在网上出现了一股热潮,购买一些高价的鼠标垫,并且宣传它们的性能很好,但是高昂的价格劝退了很多想体验的玩家,所以我想知道高价鼠标垫到底值不值得大多数玩家购买。

And there is a craze on the Internet, buy some high-priced mouse pads, and publicize their performance is very good, but the high price dissuaded many players who want to experience, so I would like to know the high-priced mouse pads in the end is it worth it for most players to buy.

我前往了秋叶原的PC SHOP ark,我花了一整个下午的时间来体验这家店所有的鼠标垫,并且记录了下来。

I headed over to PC SHOP ark in Akihabara, and I spent an entire afternoon experiencing all of the store's mouse pads and documenting them.

I kept track of speed, price, comfort, materials, durability, size, thickness, control. And centered my research around price.

I wanted to start with speed, control, comfort, and durability to get a relatively rough score.

 

可视化

Visualization

我使用权重比来定义它们在得分中占的比重。并且得到了一个数据。

I used weight ratios to define how much weight they contribute to the score. And got a figure.

 

 

我们可以看到这个排名表记录了从高分到低分的鼠标垫,这样就可以很清楚的看到排名。

We can see that this ranking table records the mouse pads from high to low scores so that you can see the rankings clearly.

 

接着我使用这些数据来制作了一张散点图。

I then used this data to create a scatterplot.

我们可以从这张图发现,表现更好的鼠标垫是低价鼠标垫,由此我们可以得出第一个结论:鼠标垫的价格并不能直接反映鼠标垫的直接性能。

We can see from this graph that the better performing mouse pads are the lower priced mouse pads, which leads us to our first conclusion: the price of the mouse pad does not directly reflect the direct performance of the mouse pad.

 

但这一张图并不能直接下定结论,所以我去研究了鼠标垫的价格与鼠标垫的材质,厚度和舒适度之间的关系,我认为这很有趣去比较它们与价格之间的关系。

But this one chart doesn't lead to a direct conclusion, so I went and looked at the relationship between the price of a mouse pad and the material, thickness and comfort of the mouse pad, and I thought it would be interesting to compare them in relation to the price.

 

然后我将材质用数字代替。

Then I replace the material with a number.

用这些数据制作了一张带趋势线的散点图。

A scatterplot with trendlines was created using these data.

 

散点图(绿色的点):每一个点代表一个数据样本,展示了不同材质的鼠标垫所对应的舒适度评分。

Scatterplot (green dots): each dot represents a sample of data showing the comfort scores corresponding to different materials of mouse pads.

 

回归线(橙色的线):橙色的直线是通过线性回归拟合出的“最佳拟合线”,用来描述材质和舒适度评分之间的线性趋势。

Regression line (orange line): The orange line is the “line of best fit” fitted by linear regression to describe the linear trend between material and comfort scores.

从回归线可以看出,随着材质数值增加,舒适度评分呈下降趋势,表示材质数值越大,舒适度评分越低。

The regression line shows a decreasing trend in comfort scores as the material value increases, indicating that the higher the material value, the lower the comfort score. 

 

置信区间(灰色阴影区域):回归线两侧的灰色区域代表置信区间,通常为 95% 的置信区间。这表示对回归线估计的置信程度。

Confidence intervals (gray shaded areas): The gray areas on either side of the regression line represent confidence intervals, usually 95% confidence intervals. This indicates the level of confidence in the regression line estimate.

较宽的灰色区域表示在预测舒适度时存在较大的不确定性,而较窄的区域表示预测较为稳定。

Wider gray areas indicate greater uncertainty in predicting comfort, while narrower areas indicate more stable predictions.

 

从这张图我们可以得出第二个结论: 布料(1) 和混合材料(2) 带来更好的舒适度。

The second conclusion we can draw from this graph is that fabrics (1) and mixed materials (2) provide better comfort.

 

下一步是将价格与它们联系起来。

The next step is to link prices to them.

This graph shows the distribution of comfort levels at different price points.

 

我们可以从中得出第三个结论: 低成本鼠标垫在舒适性方面也表现出色。

We can draw a third conclusion from this: low-cost mouse pads also excel in terms of comfort.

 

结论

Conclusions

根据这三个结论,我们可以得出最终的结论就是: 价格低廉的鼠标垫性能也同样出色,因此我们在选择鼠标垫时可以再三考虑。

Based on these three conclusions, we can finally conclude that inexpensive mouse pads perform just as well, so we can think twice about choosing a mouse pad.
 

我想通过这些数据来表达并不是昂贵的鼠标垫就是好,为了解释数据可视化成果如何帮助我做出决策,需要继续深入才能搭建的平台的界面,这些界面仅供说明。

I want to use this data to express that it's not that expensive mouse pads are good, and in order to explain how the results of the data visualization can help me make decisions, I need to continue to go deeper in order to build the interfaces of the platform, which are for illustrative purposes only.

这一次的workshop接触了全新的软件,体验了数据收集,制作可视化的过程,我认为非常有趣,拓宽了我自己的视野,同时也锻炼了我自己的能力,我希望能有更多的机会参加这类workshop。

This workshop has exposed me to brand new software, experienced the process of data collection and making visualization, I think it is very interesting, broadened my own vision, and at the same time exercised my own ability, I hope to have more opportunities to participate in this kind of workshop.
