Workshop;
1. Active Listening Role-play
TM Kobayashi had us be in pairs. In each pair, one became a speaker and made one minute speech. The other summarized the speech and presented it. We switched the role.
2. Demo Debate Session
TM Kobayashi and her assistants split into Government group( agree with a motion) and Opposition group(disagree with a motion) and started a demo debate. The motion; We should teach debate in Japanese elementary school. Each of them had two minutes in making a speech. The order; 1. Prime Minister of the Government 2. Leader of Opposition 3. Member of the Government 4. Member of the Opposition 5. Deputy Leader of the Opposition 6. Deputy Prime Minister of the Government
Before the debate, TM Kobayashi divided us into two groups, government support group and opposition support group, no matter which one we really supported. . We assisted some ideas to support the allocated group before the debate. During the debate, we showed our support to tap a table when we agreed a speech. After the debate, we raised our hands which group we were convincved.
3. Debate Session
Separating into four groups, we tried a debate. The motion; Money is everything. After that, some members and guests stepped up a podium and presented the debate.
The procedure was the same as the demo debate session.
