Pファンクの創始者George Clintonが1967年に結成したファンクバンド。
元々はThe Parliamentsのバックバンドとして活動していました。

81年作の本盤には意見の相違によりGeorge Clintonは参加していません。

You'll Like It TooのイントロのドラムブレイクがEric B & Rakim - I Know You Got Soul, Main Source - Watch Roger Do His Thing, DJ Shadow - Lesson 4など多くの曲にサンプリングされています。
（Ultimate Breaks & Beatsにも収録。）
曲としても素晴らしく、ソウルフルなコーラスにサビの（ユーライクトゥ～）ユ～エンユ～エンユ～というフレーズもたまらない！

高揚感のあるピアノのイントロから始まるPhunklordsも好きです。
