I watched an interesting discussion by Professor from Harverd Uni on TV. It's held at Tokyo Uni.
Discussions btw Prf and Uni student were coverin from the royality toward our familiy, society and country to responsibility for them.
The last topic, that's very interesting and deeply caught my attention, was whether the past wrong-doing by the country beccomes the responsibility of the present people and need show apology toward other countries.
The Prf, examplified this by the issue of dropping of the atomic-bomb in Hiroshima.
He asked Uni students whether Prs Obama should show his apology toward victims and the Japanese Gov.
Of coz, opinions were split. In my opinion, he must do so. As mentioned in the lecture, the every single people of the country naturally has the royality and responsibility to his country as if an individual person has the royality and responsility to his family and relative community. For example, if your fimily member commit a crime, a murder, you would not directly but indirectly have the responsibility for victims and those families. Of coz, you dont have any posibility to be punished. However, what's the morally collect is to show your sincerest apology to those remained families.
This is the important essence of this topic and therefore, I concluded Prs Obama should show his apology toward Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It's not the point to discuss how many times have been past since then. In the WW2, U.S. military and then U.S. Gov dropped atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and massacred non-militant inocent people, breaching the international treaty that verbally protect inocent pple from unreasonable military attacks.
On behalf of the United Stats of America, Prs Obama has the responsibility for his nation's wrong-doing and past wrong-doing and should take action, representing then U.S. Gov.
