少し書き起こしてみました。
This is a story from not a long time ago. There was a town by the name Gardena which was at the foothills of a mountain. There lived a man named Christopher Smith with his family.
One day, he went out for his business trip to a nearby town. He finished his work for the day and started his journey back to his town in his horse cart. It was getting dark in the winter night and in the middle of the journey, it started snowing heavily.
He decided to halt his journey but there was no end or a shelter to be seen nearby for spending rest of the night. All of a sudden, he saw a light at a distance. He went to that place and found a small wooden house. He knocked on the door and an old lady opened the door.
She was surprised to see a stranger at the door. She asked, “Hello Mister, how are you? What are you doing in the dark cold night outside?” “I am Christopher Smith and I live in Gardena and I was going there from the nearby town after finishing my business as it's snowing heavily.
I was looking for a place to spend the rest of the night. This is the only place I found nearby. And I saw the light, so I came. “If you don't mind, can I come in?” The lady said, “Yes, yes, please come in.”
The lady took Christopher inside the house and also arranged for the shelter for his horse in a small barn outside of the house. As Christopher looked around in the house, there were many small beds with children sleeping quietly in the bed tuck under the blanket.
As the lady saw his curious look, she said, “My name is Lilly and after my husband passed away a few years ago, I run an orphanage here and that's why you're seeing a lot of children here.
She offered a ball of hot soup to Christopher. He appreciated it very much specially after a journey.
