I'd like to show you two kinds of movies at first.
The first one is called Kobe Luminaries . Kobe is western of Japan.
It's a illuminated arch. It looks like a blight tunnel.
It is held every December . It started in 1995 . We can walk through the tunnel for free.
The theme of this event changes every year. So we can enjoy different designs of arches every year.
The second one is a part of fireworks festival in Nigata. This festival is one of the three major fireworks festival in Japan.
this scene is the best scene people are look forward to in the festival.
a lot of people from all over Japan visit there to see it .
If you want to go to the fireworks festival , you have to reserve a hotel before 1 year.
The fireworks were shot off from 10 points along the river at the same time. The wideth is more than 2 km. The number of shooting off points depends on year.
By the way, Both of them have a same meaning. Do you have any idea without Japanese.

Japan has had many earthquakes so far . Not only eastern of Japan but almost all parts.
Their purposes are to mourn for the victims of big earthquakes and to pray for a reconstruction.
These events started the year each earthquakes happened. That made people who live there cheerful . These were thire hope. And have brought big money to each city from visitors.
Festivals or events usually have sponsers. However they have no sponsers. They are held by donations. That's why the number of the shooting off points are variable.
Today, these two places are reconstructed. Unfortunately, We are forgetting about these tragedy year by year. And Children didn't experience natural disasters.
These two festivals are good opportunities to remind us of the earthquakes.
