ブラックホール (☆｡☆)

怖いですね~

Thinking about black holes makes my head hurt.. (ノ◇≦。)

Black holes are really small. They're like 3km wide, but they have the mass of a million suns. Now that is a HUGE mass stuffed into a TINY space. That's why it has an unbelievably powerful gravitation field. And in fact, it's so strong, that you couldn't espace it even with the speed of light. Therefore, even light can't espace it, and that's why the black hole looks like a black hole. Scary, right?

The speed of light is the fastest speed possible, so if light can't espace it, nothing can.

Imagine you're watching me as I jump into the black hole. The closer I get to the event horizon, the stronger the gravitation pull is [event horizon is a line, when you cross it, you can't espace it, even with the speed of light]. So the closer I get, the more time light needs to come from me to you. That's why to you, it looks like I'm going slower, and slower... And when I cross the event horizon, it looks to you as if I have frozen. Because from that point on, the light and my reflection no longer reaches you.

But I haven't really frozen, of course. I'm still travelling towards the core of the hole, but now there is no exit for me. There is no way I could even espace. The closer I get, the stronger the gravitation is, until it becomes so strong, it tears me apart, into little pieces, then even smaller pieces, and finally into tiny subatoms, which join the core of the hole.

That's how it's possible for the tiny black hole to swallow huuuge stars. ヽ(ﾟ◇ﾟ )ﾉ

Less scary once you understand it a bit, right?
