Welcome back to my blog!
I mentioned in the last blog that I have two more blogs to write, but this is actually my very last blog!!!
As you probably know me, but let me introduse myself again. I have been studying at Thammasat University, the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication as an exchange student for a whole semester. It is technically my first time in Thailand.
In this last blog, I would like to look back my life in Thailand and kinda sum up what I have learned from Thai culture.
Enjoy!!!!
・Live and Learn
Before I came to Thailand, I did not research about this country at all because I wanted to learn the culture, lifestyle and everything by experiencing them. Because of this spirit, I spent quite tough time without knowing anything how to communicate with Thai people or have tips to live in Thailand. However, Thai culture told me that you do not have to study the culture because you can see it from communicating with Thai people.
So I learned the spirit of “live and learn” through experiencing this amazing culture.
・”Where we learn to love people”
This is the policy of the Thammasat University. Thammasat University is the place where people learn to love. Through this exchange program, I felt a ton of love from people, including my friends, teachers and even strangers. Nowadays, people like to do everything with their phones and not focusing on what happens in the real life. However, in Thailand, I felt most of people are not addicted to technology, but “people”.
・Main Pe Rai
I assume this is very cultural thing, but Japanese people are always in hurry and being too polite. This is why the stereotype of Japanese people is apologizing and bowing and makes them feel that everything is hectic.
Even I am a person who is being stressed with myself. However, Thai “Main Pe Rai” spirit told me that “everything would be alright” and “you do not have to be serious”. This helps me a lot living in completely new culture for me.
After I go back to Japan, I will be extremely busy with job hunting and can imagine how I will be stressed with. However, I will deserve that with the spirit of Main Pe Rai.
So how did you like my very last blog?
It has been quite nice experience posting blog about cultural differences between Japan and Thailand this every single week.
In addition, I am so thankful for being an exchange student in Thailand, to Thammasat University.
I am 100% sure that I will not be coming back to this university to get master degree, but I am 120% sure that I will miss this New Media Class, The campus, my room, food, tropical weather, van, view of traffic jam, elephant camp and everything.
Thanks so much for reading my very last blog!!
Bye bye!!
