It's >Teachers' Day< tomorrow but my pupils surprised me today
and brought me a present ニコニコ

I didn't expect they'd say "happy teacher's day" or anything let give me something

That's why I'm really happy, it was a nice surprise べーっだ!

THANK YOU ドキドキ

After 7pm I went to pick up my books.

I've ordered three new ones,

Justekのブログ

1st on the left > Ani Słowa Prawdy< (Not a grain of truth) is by Polish writer Jacek Piekara

who is known especially for his fantasy cicle about an inquisitor Mordimer, which takes place in
a reality where Jesus didn't die on the cross but has stepped down and has punished his opressors
and those who didn't believe in Him.

True this cicle is a bit controversial. But in our country almost everything is controversial...

anyway I don't ca-a-a-a-are...

In the middle >Angel's Blood< by Nalini Singh.
First from the 'Guild Hunter' series... another book that starts a series:

*** USA Today bestselling author Nalini Singh introduces a world of beauty and
bloodlust, where angels hold sway over vampires***

Now when I think about it, it's the first book where vampires and angels
starr together... that HAS to be interesting ビックリマーク

I just pray this time it'll be better than 'Some girls Bite'.

And the last book is:

>The Stone Child< by Dan Poblocki

***From angry trolls, a missing author, and a curse as old as time, The Stone Child is a magical read filled with terrifying creatures and amazingly scary fun.I really enjoyed reading The Stone Child because, though it was scary enough to make your skin crawl, it has a good vs. evil plot and a creative "book within a book" style. This book is perfect for anyone who, like myself, enjoys horror stories that give you a good adrenaline rush, but doesn't keep you up at night...*** (an excerpt from a review)

Though the main character is 12 and I am 20+ べーっだ!...

well.. Halloween is coming soon...

and I've learned that sometimes.. hell... like 80% of children's stories is more spooky than the
adults' ones...

hmhmhmhm

yup

damn... meanwhile I've been talking to my aunt and I;m getting angry

so see ya...

"I was just turned into vampire.
Now my new life is teetering on the tip of the stake..."

'Some Girls Bite' hmm...
according to the description on the back cover:

' In 2009 with "Some Girls Bite"Chloe Noell started a new series
full of action, humour and a sexy romance of 'Vampires from Chicagoland'.
(...) Merit- amiable, talkative and stubborn vampiress, against her will
resembles Stookie Stackhouse of Charlaine Harris and Anita Blake of
Laurell K. Hamilton."

I intentionally underlined some parts as those were the ones
that prompted me to buy this book.

Not being a fan of 'True Blood' but enamoured with Anita Blake series
I expected some action (bad guys, gunshots, chases, fights, crazy/ frenzy
old vampires trying to gain power...)

and romance (it didn;t have to feature two gorgeous guys, one vampire Master of the City
and the other one, Ulfric of local pack of werewolves trying to get into main character's
pants... later followed by (literally furniture) destructive sex にひひ)...

BUT,

in the end...
instead of at least some action and romance I got only some humourシラー
and a main 'Underworld/Blade' looking character... who, apart from 'looks'
has nothing else in common with characters of mentioned titles... シラー

It didn;t take long to finish the book...

Now I know I expected too much...
But I thought that having a 27-year-old as a main character will give
more adult taste: meaning, there won;t be something like 'Oh my... your're
a big bad vampire... your eyes glow, you sparkle... and similar... shit...
(no ofence, but for me, majority of vampire books that have recently sprouted
are just a mawkish treat for pubescent teens...)

Coming back to Merit,

supposedly a little black sheep of her family, now whining over her 'oh how unfortunate
lot of a nosferatu' (who actually sleep during the day because sun burns their skin, but
can't kill them)
and finally - ex gratia gives in to her new life... Merit is an ADULT, a grown up woman for
heaven's sake!!
yet she behaves as a teenager... she's a crush on her master/boss, but
denies it all the time...

True she's a bit cheeky, but each time after she says something before she thinks
she tries to explain herself... just like teen cought smoking by a parent...
Merit thinks wayyy too much... always consideres not to 'subdue', but when the time comes
she does as she's told...

I know I may be harsh in my opinnion of this book. I've read plenty of reviews and I haven't found
one that would say a one bad word about it... oh well...

Peole still don;t understand that fangs, black clothes and drinking blood, doesn't matter
packeted or straight from the... snack... don;t make vampire.

I hoped for vampires that SUCK blood for sweet Lord of the Rings' sake
but I got ones that really only SUCKed >_<....

<5th Oct>

Yay my books arrived!!

I just came home and checked my mail and there's
a note that they
are waiting for me in EMPIK チョキ

Autumn must really be coming... I found this beautifull leaf
lying pecefully on the sidewalk...

I have already read "Halfway to the Grave" some time ago
I just wanted to have my own copy in my home library にひひ

As for "Some Girls Birte"I was looking for somethig that
is as least as possible "Twilight" connected, something that
has characters who are at least +20 (human age hehe).
I'm too old to read aboout crazy life of teenagers... we'll
see.

Right now I'm reading "Cerulean Sins" that's book 11
of Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton and i must tell
that's HELL of a HOT book (not that the previous ones
weren't, but this one... 叫び)

Anyway it's an e-book so I'll make a short break and
read a paperback べーっだ!

Then "Some Girls Bite" let's give it a try チョキ
