The Jump Manual is with out a doubt my first choice as the best jump training program available. It combines eBook instruction and video instruction to provide athletes with a scientifically based training program which allows them to quickly add inches to their vertical. Where most training programs focus only on exercises, The Jump Manual addresses 9 critical elements of jump training which allows athletes to achieve maximum results from their hard work.

30 days of one on one email coaching, plus free access to the elite jumpers forum, provide an excellent opportunity for athletes to have any and all of their questions answered. Athletes that wish to continue their one on one training after the 30 days has expired can do so for a small monthly fee, less than $10 a month. This type of training support and one on one coaching is unheard of in the sports world at these low prices.

Focusing on all aspects of jump training, it’s multiple instruction methods, and after purchase support, is what places The Jump Manual head and shoulders above it’s competition and allows athletes to achieve maximum results.

The Vertical Jump Development provides excellent information on jumping exercise and physiology, bringing it to the top of my list for jump training programs. It also provides a good deal of focus to the mental aspects, or psychology of jumping, and on improving the mind muscle connection. Information is provided solely through an eBook without any after purchase support. While I don’t put much stock in the mental aspects of this program, the principles used to develop the training programs are sound, allowing athletes to increase their vertical jump. Priced at only $40 dollars this is the least expensive of top three training programs. If price is your only concern and you are willing to settle for less than optimal results, then the Vertical Jump Development would be your best choice.

While The Jump Bible does provide some excellent information it fails to address some critical elements of jump training that are covered in the Jump Manual. Combine this with the less sophisticated training methods (only an eBook, no video instruction) and no after purchase support places The Vertical Jump Development Bible solidly in the #2 spot for top jump training programs.

Vertical Mastery isn’t actually a training program. It’s a software program that creates a workout based on your current physical abilities. After completing a few test to determine your maximum lifts you input the data into the software and it evaluates your strengths and weaknesses and suggest a workout program to improve the areas that your are weakest in. It gives a couple different options to further customize your workout, one option for whether or not you have access to weights and a second option for whether or not your are training in season or out of season. The vertical Mastery programs produced workouts that focused on power, speed, and quickness, covering the basis elements of jump training.

By focusing on power, speed, and quickness, the creators of Vertical Mastery clearly understand the basics of what is required for improving your vertical jump. This program would be an excellent analysis tool for any coaches tool box, I believe that it would have to be far more sophisticated to be a real benefit as a sole training tool.
