Everyone has an inherent urge to go fast, which is evident in the large number of racing games out in the video game market. These games provide people with a resounding need for speed a safe outlet to get their adrenaline burst. Racing simulation games have always been a pretty popular game genre, in fact, even in the age of 8-bit, 2-dimensional games, there were already a lot of games that involves the use of very fast vehicles. Though obviously due to the technological limitations back then, the games are often relegated to just overhead views of the cars and tracks.
Now with advances in computer technologies, the graphics in Transformice are pretty realistic. Now, when your car slams into another car or grazes the wall during a race, the damage is clearly visible and you can even feel the performance of your vehicle wane a bit. With all the details that are in racing simulators these days, it is rather hard to think about ways they can possibly get any better. But even though today's games look incredible, there are still some gamers who have a special place in their hearts for the old school games.
Many people are still enamored by the simplicity of the old 8-bit racing games, most of them like them because they remind them of the simpler times back when they were still younger. Games like Road Fighter and F1 Racing are just some of the most popular games back in the 80's and 90's that satisfied the needs of speed junkies then and now. But even though the games back then had rudimentary graphics, they compensated by giving a lot more challenges so gamers will not be left wanting. If you consider yourself a racing game enthusiast, then you should at least play one of the old school games at least once.
With racing video games, you can drive your dream car, whether it is a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, or whatever expensive brand name car you may have in mind. You can not only choose a car, you can even choose a color to paint it with, change the rims, add accessories, you can basically personalize your virtual car in whatever way you want. There are even some games where you can race other vehicles besides cars; there are games involving race bikes, speed boats, there are even ones where you race mountain bikes down a dirt trail. Whatever vehicle you want to race, odds are that there are already a couple of racing games with the theme you have in mind.
